1. Educational objectives:
Students learn to budget machines and devices used in production processes as integral parts
technology systems and manufacturing lines, in order to select the standard.
2. Education Outcomes (Knowledge):
The study of machines and devices to enable the students to perform tasks in the area such as the design of technological systems, management engineering development processes and projects supporting the technical and technological development. Students acquire the necessary knowledge needed for the calculation, the selection, use and maintenance of machinery and equipment in industrial processes.
3. Content / structure of the course:
Machinery and apparatus for hydro operations (precipitation and sedimentation tanks, filters and filtration, centrifugation and centrifuges, mixers, liquid, pressure vessels). Machines and apparatus with heat exchange (heat exchangers, and capacitors). Machines and apparatus with diffuse operations (absorption, distillation, cooking, crystallization). Machinery and apparatus with mass transfer operations (drying kilns, roller kilns contact, convection dryer with pneumatic material transport, coil contact dryer, spray dryer, rotary dryer. Piston and turbo machinery (pumps, compressors, fans, steam turbines). Boilers.
Students perform calculation of the basic machinery and apparatus of the following areas: hydro operation, heating operation, the operation mass transfer, reciprocating and turbo machinery. Selects the standard.
4. Methods of teaching:
Lectures, exercises, consultations. Lectures, the theoretical parts are followed by typical examples and exercises to do tasks in the theoretical part of the curriculum. There is consultation every week according to the schedule.
