The 7th International Conference »Information Technologies and Education Development – ITRO 2016« was held on 10th June, 2016 in the new amphitheater of the Technical Faculty »Mihajlo Pupin« in Zrenjanin that organized and realized it.
The Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the ITRO 2016 Doc. PhD Marjana Pardanjac opened the Conference. The participants were addressed by the Dean of the Technical Faculty »Mihajlo Pupin«, Prof. PhD Dragica Radosav; the vice-rector of the University of Novi Sad, Prof. PhD Sasha Orlovic; the vice-major Mr. Dusko Radisic; Prof. PhD Ivanka Georgieva dean of the Technical Faculty of the University of »Neofit Rilski« from Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria; and the vice-dean of the Faculty of Informatics of the University »Goce Delcev« from Stip, Macedonia, Doc. PhD Blagoje Delipetrev.
After the welcoming speech, the participants of the Conference had chance to listen to the lectures delivered by the invited lecturers: Prof. PhD Ivanka Georgieva, topic: „Engineering Education in the Framework of European Qualification"; as well as Doc. PhD Dalibor Dobrilovic „Welcome to the Future (of Teaching IT)”. After the introductory lectures there was a short discussion in which the participants took part actively.
There were total of 163 authors that took part at the Conference from 15 countries, 4 continents: 96 from the Republic of Serbia and 67 from foreign countries such as: Macedonia, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Russia, Montenegro, Albania, Hungary, Italy, India, Rumania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, USA, Egypt and Nigeria.
82 scientific papers were presented; 42 from Serbia and 40 from the above mentioned countries. The papers were presented in the English language.
29 competent experts from seven countries (Bulgaria, Macedonia, Croatia, Hungary, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Romania, and Serbia) were members of the Scientific Committee of the Conference.
The Proceedings of papers contains 80 papers and 2 invited lectures, and it has been published in the English language.
In the frameworks of the Conference two Agreements on Business-technical Cooperation have been signed between the Technical Faculty „Mihajlo Pupin“ and VEGA IT Sourcing from Novi Sad, and Technical Faculty of the University of „Neofit Rilski“ from Bulgaria.
About 80 authors and guests took part in the work of the Conference, and special contribution was given by the authors and guests from abroad (Bulgaria, Macedonia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina); as well as by the vice-major Mr. Dusko Radisic; vice-rector Prof. PhD Sasa Orlovic; president of the Regional Association - TIO Mr Milos Soro; president of CNTI – Centre for Development and Application of Science, Technology and Informatics from Novi Sad, Prof. PhD Slobodan Popov; president of the Experts' Council of Technical and IT Education of the City of Zrenjanin - Msc Snezana Vranjes; representative of the Regional Industrial Chamber - Mr Bojan Sostaric, and others.
One main importance of the Conference ITRO 2016 was that it has enabled a meeting and comparison at one place of various practices and approaches to education as well as influence of information technologies as a branch that has been developing quickest in modern societies. The most of the papers were from the region that is especially important as we live side by side, face relatively similar problems, so the experiences and solutions presented on the Conference can be applied in our educational practice, too.
