REALIZATION, RESULTS AND CONCLUSIONS

Technical Faculty “Mihajlo Pupin” organized International conference on “Information technology and development of education – ITRO 2011” held on July, 1st, 2011 in hotel “Vojvodina” in Zrenjanin. Conference is successfully ended and conclusions, which are made, can be used as guidelines for the future acting in the area of information technology (IT) implementation in education and for increasing teaching program efficiency as well.

The opening speech was made by the Rector of the University of Novi Sad, full professor Miroslav Veskovic, who stressed main ideas which guided Technical Faculty “Mihajlo Pupin”, as part of the University, from the start of the discussion about: situation in educational system in Republic of Serbia, ways of implementation and problems in IT implementation in education. Having analysed the situation, some possible solutions were seen through good practice examples and ways of transformation in methodical and educational areas as well.

Conference offered the basis for the future continuous work in the shape of: specialized seminars, workshops and courses, with the aim to improve profession and to develop the work of educational institutions.

After keynote speakers: Mr. Stanisa Banjanin (Chief of the school administration), full professor Goran Sucic (Faculty of Philosophy, Split, Croatia) and full professor Sashko Plachkov (South-West University “Neofit Rilski”, Department of Education, Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria) and welcome note by PhD Rade Ciric (Provincial Secretariat for Education, Administration and National Communities) at the Conference are presented: problems, situation and perspectives in the areas:

  • Theoretical and methodological questions of modern pedagogy
  • Curriculum of contemporary teaching
  • Methodical questions about accomplishing teaching of natural and technical sciences
  • Life-long learning and professional advanced teacher training
  • E-learning
  • Management in education
  • Development and influence of information technologies on teaching
  • Informational communicational infrastructure in teaching process

A conference proceeding is printed in English and contains 83 papers from 11 countries (22 papers are from abroad). Scientific committee of the Conference gathered 28 experts from 6 countries.

One of the most important results of the Conference is Agreement on cooperation between Technical Faculty “Mihajlo Pupin” and Faculty of Information Technology, Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

After four sessions following conclusions, i.e. guidelines for future work, were adopted:

  • To work continuously in order to develop active international cooperation as part of the educational activities;
  • To stimulate intensive cooperation between scientific institutions and educational ones at all levels;
  • To support more active role of public media in order to represent the proper situation in the area of education;
  • To increase social responsibility that is necessary for building the Life-Long-Learning mechanisms;
  • To enhance digitalized teaching material as one of the required teaching tools;
  • To adopt the status of Informatics subject in primary school as mandatory and not as optional one.

Conference is supported by: Provincial Secretariat for Education, Administration and National Communities, The City Council of Zrenjanin, The School Administration of Zrenjanin and Universities Educational Centre. Over 100 participants and guests attended the event, as well as representatives of public media and governmental institutions. Specially contribution gave guests from abroad:  PhD Sashko Plachkov (Bulgaria), PhD Sulejman Meta (Republic of Macedonia), PhD Goran Sucic (Croatia), PhD Nina Bijedic (Bosnia and Herzegovina), PhD Alin Bitea (Romania), PhD Anton Vukelic (Croatia), PhD Gordana Radic (Republic of Srpska).
