Instructions for using the library collection and available databases.
The library of the Technical Faculty "Mihajlo Pupin" Zrenjanin, University of Novi Sad, was founded as a separate organizational unit in 1998.The library, as a separate organizational unit, ensures conditions for teaching, educational and scientific research activities. Its activities include the acquisition, processing, protection and storage of library and information material, making it available for use, creating information aids and maintaining documentation. Also, the library creates and maintains its catalog and provides users with information and guidelines for using library and other information resources, both inside and outside the library.
The library of the Technical Faculty "Mihajlo Pupin" Zrenjanin has 33,956 library items, as well as the necessary equipment for work. Out of the total number of library units, the library has 8,401 monographic units in Serbian and foreign languages, 12,994 units that include doctoral dissertations, master's theses, specialist and graduate theses in printed form, as well as 6,420 units in electronic form on CD. In addition, the library has 109 titles of periodicals (magazines - domestic and foreign) with 6,141 volumes. In this way, the library provides important support to the teaching process in all study programs, as well as to scientific and research work. As well as the publishing activity, the Faculty through its departments monitors, evaluates and improves the structure and scope of the library collection.
Activities related to entry, recording, inventory and processing of library units were carried out using the BISIS 5.0 software package. Records, inventory and processing of publications are updated in a timely manner and are in accordance with legal regulations and international professional standards:
• unique catalog and bibliographic processing according to international standards for bibliographic description - ISBD (International Standard Bibliographic Description),
• unique professional classification of publications according to the rules of the UDC Universal Decimal Classification,
• uniform subject classification of publications according to valid international standards, namely: JUS A.C1.201 (1988), ISO 5963 (1985), JUS/ISO 2788 (1974),
• a unique format for entering and exchanging data, i.e. manuals, Universal Machine Readable Format UNIMARC.
Inventory books are kept for monographic publications, student works and serial publications, as well as for special library materials (compact discs). Interlibrary loan with libraries in the country is also actively applied. All library units are properly processed and the entire library fund is available for searching electronically both from the premises of the Faculty and outside the Faculty. Each newly acquired publication or work is processed immediately upon receipt. Electronic borrowing and lending of library materials is also possible. In this way, work with users has been improved, especially in terms of shortening the time that the librarian devotes to an individual user.
Information resources are also provided for the needs of teaching in all study programs: computers, other IT equipment and access to the Internet. All teachers, associates and students of the Faculty have free access to the Internet and the academic network at the Faculty, as well as from their homes. Through the academic network, access to KoBSON and the world's leading electronic services, which provide access to the largest number of journals in the scientific fields studied at the Faculty, is provided. Also, the data for the teaching staff, which are required for the record of the scientific worker in the database of the Provincial Secretariat for Science and Technological Development, as well as for the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia, are updated daily.
The library, through modern and high-quality services, provides users with quick and easy access to all types of information. By creating an advanced information environment, it contributes to the improvement of studies, education and scientific research work at the Faculty.
Rulebook on publishing activity.
The work of the library takes place through activities established both by legal acts in the field of library business and by the function of the library itself. The Rules of Procedure of the Faculty Library were adopted by the Faculty Council on February 13, 2020. The Council of the Technical Faculty "Mihajlo Pupin" in Zrenjanin met on February 13, 2020. adopted the Rulebook on publishing activity, which, in accordance with the Law on Publications and the Statute of the Faculty, regulates publishing activity. The goal of the publishing activity is to provide basic and supplementary textbooks and teaching aids for students of basic, master's and doctoral studies in order to improve the quality of educational and scientific work. The Rulebook also prescribes the procedure for ensuring the quality of textbooks, literature, library and IT resources. In accordance with the Rulebook on publishing activity, the Teaching and Research Council and the Faculty Council review the state of publishing activity at least twice a year. On that occasion, they analyze the number of unsold copies of publications according to the year of publication, the total number of publications, the need to print new editions and other relevant issues. The publishing activity of the Faculty has significantly contributed to successful teaching, scientific research and professional work. Since its establishment, the Faculty has paid great attention to publishing. During more than 50 years of existence, an extensive bibliographic opus of textbook material was published, including textbooks, monographs, manuals, scripts, collections, catalogs and other written materials. These editions served as textbook literature for all levels of academic studies or as significant sources of information for expert, professional and scientific research work. The publishing activity of the Faculty includes several editions, within which 498 publications have been published so far, namely:

The Faculty publishes the Journal of Engineering Management and Competitiveness (JEMC), which is available in electronic (ISSN 2217-8147) and printed (ISSN 2334-9638) editions. The journal is referenced in SCIndex as a periodical publication of a scientific nature. SCIndeks journals, selected according to the criteria of internationality, are additionally monitored and recommended for reference to publishers of international citation databases. From 2021, the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia categorizes the journal as M51 (Top Journal of National Importance).
The portal is a register of all accredited NIO researchers in Serbia, as well as a database with metadata about their research results. The published works of our professors as well as technical solutions, textbooks, doctoral dissertations, ie. overall scientific research work and contribution.
On the eScience portal, we have 71 active researchers and 3,919 verified papers (scientific journals, conferences, textbooks, technical solutions, dissertations...). The eScience platform is largely based on collecting scientific results using the following databases for collecting abstracts and citations from scientific and academic journals (ScopusID, WOS Web of Science, PubMedID, Open Science, Google Scholar).
