
Topic: Erasmus+ project Partnership for cooperation in higher education (KA220-HED) "Strengthening green and digital capacities in higher education through cooperation in the integration of historical buildings into a sustainable and digital future - HEHistorical"
Within the framework of the 15th international conference Industrial Engineering and Environmental Protection (IIZS 2025), a round table dedicated to the presentation of the Erasmus+ project HEHistorical was held. The meeting was opened and led by prof. Dr. Eleonora Desnica, who on behalf of the Technical Faculty "Mihajlo Pupin" greeted all present professors, representatives of partner institutions, representatives of cultural institutions, students and the media.

Project manager Prof. was especially welcomed. Dr. Dorin Radu from Transilvania University in Brasov (Romania), who joined online, then prof. Dr. Sorin Dan from the Polytechnic University of Timisoara (Romania), prof. Dr. Marijana Hadžima Njarko with Josip Juraj Strossmayer of the University of Osijek (Croatia) and prof. Dr. Dalibor Dobrilović, Technical Faculty "Mihajlo Pupin" Zrenjanin, University of Novi Sad.
Representatives of local cultural institutions also took part: Jelena Gvozdenac Martinov, acting director of the National Museum of Zrenjanin, and Lazar Sretenović, acting director of the Contemporary Gallery of Zrenjanin.
After the opening address, the project manager, prof. Dr. Dorin Radu, who pointed out that HEHistorical will be of great importance not only for partner institutions, but also for the wider academic and professional community. He particularly emphasized the importance of cooperation between engineering and cultural institutions in order to preserve historical heritage through modern digital technologies.
It was followed by the presentation of all partners, with each representative briefly describing: their institution, research or expert team participating in the project,
previous activities in the field of cultural heritage preservation or digitization, planned contributions within the HEHistorical project.
Representatives of universities from Romania, Croatia and Serbia presented examples of their previous projects and laboratory capacities, while representatives of the Zrenjanin National Museum and the Zrenjanin Contemporary Gallery spoke about the importance of archival material, educational programs and work with the local community, emphasizing that they see the project as an opportunity to modernize the way of presenting cultural heritage to the public.
During the presentation, it was pointed out that the project aims to develop digital and green capacities through interdisciplinary cooperation, especially in the areas of energy efficiency, seismic resistance and microclimatic rehabilitation of historic buildings.
It was emphasized that in Serbia there is a great need for the modernization of methodologies in the protection of architectural heritage, as well as for greater integration of digital tools. Cultural institutions emphasized their readiness for cooperation and emphasized the importance of better connections with higher education institutions.
The participants agreed that the project provides significant potential for education, research and modernization of practices in the field of cultural heritage preservation. The importance of involving students and promoting the results to the general public was particularly emphasized.
The round table ended with a thank you to all participants and an invitation to further cooperation within the HEHistorical project. It was concluded that the synergy of higher education and cultural institutions is the key to the sustainable management of historic buildings in the digital future.
